Gang Beasts

These characters are controlled by players and they must try to either punch, kick, or grab the other gamers. The game also includes a mode for solo players. Gang Beasts offers a wildly entertaining multiplayer experience where players engage in whimsical brawls and chaotic animal-themed fights that delight players across various age groups. Originally developed by Boneloaf, Gang Beasts is now published by Double Fine Productions and was released on October 14, 2017 to Steam Early Access.

Gameplay

The game mechanics are simple to grasp. The game features two-dimensional characters in a 3D world. Controlling these characters, players must attempt to punch, kick, or seize their adversaries. The game features a mode specifically tailored for solo play.

Participants take on the roles of diverse creatures, each equipped with distinct skills, and must employ these skills to outmaneuver and eliminate rival creatures while striving to survive themselves. The game unfolds across various stages within a map, and each stage presents a unique goal that must be achieved for victory. The game is played with eight animals in four teams in the standard game mode. Participants can also engage in a mode where it's every person for themselves, with all players competing individually rather than on teams.

The game has two control options: an on-screen gamepad and a keyboard. The on-screen gamepad is optimized for mobile devices and has buttons for different movement types, an "Attack" button, and a "Jump" button. The keyboard controls are arrow keys for movement, a number pad for different attack types, and a spacebar for jumping.

Numerous creatures populate the gaming landscape, each possessing distinct advantages and disadvantages. For example, the monkey is the most mobile animal, but it is the weakest; the elephant is the weakest animal but is the most powerful; and the bear is a mix of the monkey's speed and the elephant's strength. Numerous maps exist within the game, each distinguished by its own set of distinctive characteristics.

In the standard game mode, teams of animals compete to be the first to win a set number of rounds. The free-for-all game mode is a variation of the conventional gameplay where all participants compete as a single collective. In the party game mode, players aim to eliminate their rivals while simultaneously evading their own defeat within a specified time frame.

Graphics

The graphics are 3D, but they're not very detailed. The game features two-dimensional characters in a 3D world, and these characters are controlled by players. The sound effects are also really good. The characters emit noises akin to those made by animals, and when a character meets their demise, the sound effect is convincingly true to life.

Replayability

The game offers numerous opportunities for replaying. Gang Beasts is a game about violence, brutality, and gore. The game features two-dimensional characters in a 3D world, and these characters are controlled by players.

What's new?

The apparent parting between the Gang Beasts creator and the game’s publisher has caused fans to worry about the potential coming out of part 2. While updates have been promised on the ridiculously well-received beat ‘em up game, there are no signs to indicate that a sequel is being developed, and no release date has been announced for Gang Beasts so far.
