Spotify Not Opening on Android? Soon We’ll Know Why

Some Spotify users report about experiencing a strange issue with Spotify recently. After logging out on Android, the app gets stuck on the loading screen, with no progress no matter how long you wait. According to Spotify representatives, the issue is already known, and the specialists are working on it, but the fix is yet to come.

The first reports about this problem popped up several days ago. Users complain that the app simply won’t load after launching. This happens on various devices and is not hardware-specific, though it has been spotted on Android devices only. What all the cases have in common is that users that encountered it had logged out of Spotify before this happened.

The issue is probably on the server side. This is indirectly confirmed by the fact that no local troubleshooting method works with it. Users tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and even rebooting their devices; none of this was of any help. Everyone affected by this issue has only to wait for the update. As far as we know, Spotify is already working on the fix that will be available as soon as it’s ready.

The issue didn’t affect other platforms, so those whose Android version of Spotify won’t load still can authorize and enjoy their playlists on Windows, Mac, or iOS. Nevertheless, Android is now the dominating OS in the world, and issues like this on such a popular platform are not acceptable. Hold your breath and wait for Spotify to solve the problem. If you are of the lucky majority that didn’t experience this, we recommend you keep logged in, so this won’t happen to you.

Did this problem affect your device? If so, does your Spotify account work on the web or on other platforms correctly? How soon do you expect Spotify to come up with the solution? Tell us what you think in the comments if you please!
