Ice Man 3D
Ice Man 3D review
Ice Man 3D is a brand new arcade action game from the Darktide Games developers. Take your smartphone and feel the power of the elements in your own hands. Now you can freeze enemies and smash them into small pieces using rockets. All the villains of the world will confront you, prove to them that you are stronger. Of course, if you will be quick enough for that.
Imagine an ideal world in which you can get a superpower by only changing gloves. It is possible to do it in Ice Man 3D. Its gameplay is pretty straightforward, so you'll get the hang of it quickly. Your right hand is responsible for freezing objects, and with your left one, you can break them, sending fire projectiles in their direction. As sessions progress, you will earn coins and will be able to purchase new equipment. Some skins can be bought for watching ads, of which there are quite a few, by the way. At the moment, you can only change the shape and color of ice blocks and fireballs. Hopefully, the developers will add other elements (earth and air) here as well.
Bandits and robbers of all kinds confront you. One is armed with a bat, the other comes at you with a huge hammer, and the third is ready to fight you with his bare hands. Then severe guys with a cannon and a jetpack join them. And after a few rounds, you can meet face to face with the boss in heavy armor. All this lot will all run towards you, so freeze them before they get to you. The larger the crowd, the more difficult it is to notice that a couple of bandits approach you from the side. One hit with a hammer, and you will have to start the level over.
It is not to say that Ice Man 3D can impress a sophisticated user with its amazing graphics, vivid characters, or a large selection of skins. It doesn't have all this stuff. This game's idea is very entertaining, and with due diligence, it could turn out to be an interesting project. Players are left hoping that the developers will add new levels, gloves, and skills later. By the way, the soundtrack is also missing here. However, it would be nice to go to the battle with the bandits with some epic music.
All in all, you could say that Ice Man 3D is not a bad game to kill time if you have nothing to do. However, it lags quite a lot, which makes it difficult to evaluate the process fully. The picture freezes, the ice ray slows down halfway to an angry bandit, and to switch between screens, you have to wait forever. Of course, the fact that opponents are running in slow-mo mode is not bad, but your character also moves way too slowly. Let's hope the creators will fix these shortcomings.
- Good game concept;
- Many different enemies;
- Simple controls;
- First-person view;
- The game lags pretty much;
- Few skins and equipment;
- No soundtrack;
